BJP, Congress protest against AAP Govt over water crisis in MCD meeting

The House meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)on Thursday  witnessed stormy scenes both BJP and Congress councillors protested against the  Arvind Kejriwal Government over the water crisis in the national capital. As soon as the meeting started on Thursday, after the condolence motion, BJP councillors started a ruckus over the water problem. BJP councillors came to the well and started sloganeering.Soon after the proceedings began at 11.55 am after an hours delay, opposition councillors rushed into the well of the House and raised slogans against the Kejriwal-led AAP Government creating ruckus in the house over water problems. BJP councillors carried earthen pots and raised slogans like Jai Shree Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The Opposition councillors also carried placards that had puche Delhi ek sawal, pani kab degi Kejriwal and har ghar bacha bimar hai, saf pani ki darkar hai written over it. Amid the sloganeering, Mayor Shelly Oberoi passed several proposals and adjourned the House till the next meeting. Leader of Opposition Raja Iqbal Singh said that there is a serious problem of water in the national capital holding the Delhi government responsible. Due to the failures of the Kejriwal Government, the people of Delhi are yearning for every drop of water. The BJP is with the people and is raising their voice in the House, he said. Singh alleged that water is being wasted due to leakage in the pipeline. Taking a jibe at the indefinite fast of Water Minister Atishi, he said that the public is being misled by pretending to fast. BJP will also gherao the Delhi Legislative Assembly against the demand for water and corruption.
